A new open-source security tool called DetectIQ is gaining traction among cybersecurity teams for its ability to identify AI-generated phishing emails with over 94 percent accuracy. Developed by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University, the tool analyzes linguistic patterns, metadata, and behavioral signals that distinguish machine-generated text from human writing.

DetectIQ integrates with major email platforms including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace through standard APIs. Organizations can deploy it alongside existing email security gateways for an additional layer of defense.

The tool is freely available on GitHub and has already been downloaded over 25,000 times since its release last week. The research team plans to release regular model updates to keep pace with evolving AI text generation capabilities.
