Microsoft announced the general availability of Security Copilot Standard, a scaled-down version of its AI-powered security operations platform designed for mid-market companies with 200 to 2,000 employees. The product, priced at $15 per user per month, brings many of the same AI capabilities previously available only to large enterprises into a more accessible package.

Security Copilot Standard can automatically triage security alerts, correlate threat intelligence across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, generate incident reports, and recommend remediation steps in natural language. Microsoft said early adopters in the beta program reduced their mean time to respond to security incidents by 62% and decreased alert fatigue among security analysts by 45%.

The launch addresses a critical need in the mid-market segment, where companies often lack the dedicated security operations centers found at larger organizations. Gartner estimates that 60% of mid-market firms will adopt AI-assisted security tools by 2028, up from just 12% today. The product competes directly with similar offerings from CrowdStrike and SentinelOne, both of which have introduced AI-driven security tools for the mid-market in recent months.
