A new survey from Forrester Research shows that 67% of large enterprises have now implemented at least partial zero trust architectures, up from 41% just two years ago. The dramatic shift reflects growing recognition that traditional perimeter-based security models are inadequate for hybrid and remote work environments.
The most commonly deployed zero trust components include identity verification at 89%, micro-segmentation at 54%, and continuous device posture assessment at 48%. Organizations report an average 38% reduction in security incidents after implementing zero trust frameworks.
However, Forrester notes that only 12% of enterprises have achieved full zero trust maturity across all network segments, applications, and data flows, indicating significant room for continued improvement.
