A new open-source security tool called DefendIQ launched today on GitHub, offering automated detection of cloud misconfigurations across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform environments with a single unified scanner.
DefendIQ runs over 800 security checks covering IAM policies, storage bucket permissions, network security groups, and encryption settings. The tool generates compliance reports mapped to CIS Benchmarks, SOC 2, and HIPAA frameworks out of the box.
Developed by a team of former Netflix and Google security engineers, DefendIQ has already garnered over 3,000 GitHub stars within its first week. The project is released under the Apache 2.0 license and welcomes community contributions.
